Ergonomics at work


Ergonomics at work: being careful is our responsibility!

If the good practices of ergonomics at work are not respected, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs*) can appear.
·         Make sure forearms are parallel to floor, move keyboard to elbow height if you look at keys when typing.
·         The goal is to relax neck, shoulders, arms and hands when typing and mousing.
·         Sit back in chair with head directly over relaxed shoulders.
·         Be sure to support lower back.


Prevent MSDs by recognizing the first sings

During the activity, at rest and/or at night, you can feel:
·         Aches: muscles pain caused by intense efforts for an unusual length of time
·         Contractures/Contractions: Unintended lasting painful contractions of a muscle caused by an excessive activity
·         Cramps: Unintended lasting painful full contractions
·         Tingling fingers

At this level, there are no injuries. You can still prevent from MSDs*
